Like the rest of my colleagues in Congress, I awoke on Sunday to the shocking news of Senator Lindsey Graham’s sudden passing. Though I wish I had worked with him more, I always found Senator Graham to be kind hearted and supportive. The Senate will have a glaring hole that no single person will be able to fill.
While I was in Texas last week, I had the pleasure of sitting down with CBS 11’s Jack Fink. We discussed a variety of topics, including the upcoming North Texas Job Fair and the one-year anniversary of the Working Families Tax Cuts. On Tuesday, the Small Business Committee held a hearing on how AI is shaping the future of small business. I discussed how AI gives entrepreneurs tools to streamline administrative work, freeing them up to focus on growing their business and serving customers. Washington should build on that progress without piling on new uncertainty or unnecessary costs, so businesses of every size can benefit as America leads on AI.

Had a great meeting with Small Business Administration Deputy Administrator Bill Briggs! We were able to discuss my bill, the Small Business Health Options Awareness Act of 2026, which raises awareness for Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRAs), which are an innovative way for employers to have more affordable and flexible health coverage for their employees.
It was great to visit with SMU student-athletes on Tuesday while they were here in Washington, advocating for issues affecting collegiate athletes today.
On Wednesday, my Ways and Means colleagues and I advanced seven bills out of committee that will put the American people in charge of their own healthcare. We are dedicated to expanding access to affordable and high-quality healthcare.
It was great to meet with creators from across the country when they gathered on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.
Creators come from every single congressional district. Not only are they making captivating content across platforms, but they’re also small business owners making a difference in their communities. As Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the Congressional Creators Caucus, I’m always looking to connect with more creators, learn about this growing economy, and find ways we can help.
That afternoon, I introduced a resolution with Republican Study Committee Chairman Pfluger condemning Omar Suleiman of Irving for celebrating Senator Lindsey Graham’s death. Suleiman was invited by House Democrats to serve as Guest Chaplain of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2019.

Also on Wednesday, TikTok brought a group of creators to our nation’s capital to talk about how they use social media to help their small businesses and local economies.
It was great to connect with Sara McDaniel who uses her platform to bring tourism to Northwest Louisiana, Chemical Kim who is a chemistry professor turned science education creator, and Dan Salinger who shares his journey online as a caregiver for his father.
In the Working Families Tax Cuts, a major priority for me was expanding Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), allowing Americans to save and spend on care that best fits their needs.
Now, thanks to House Republicans and President Trump, families with HSAs have the flexibility to choose affordable care that prioritizes prevention and access.
Texas-24 Work of the Week
This week, I led a resolution condemning Omar Suleiman, founder of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research in Irving, Texas, after he publicly celebrated the death of Senator Lindsey Graham. I was joined by 25 of my House colleagues, including many of my fellow Texas Republicans.
Texas-24 Hometown Hero
This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Grady Emerson – recently drafted second overall by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Emerson earned the titles of Gatorade National Player of the Year and Baseball America High School Player of the Year. He played a key role in helping lead Fort Worth Christian to the TAPPS Division II state championship game. Congratulations, Grady!
