Sjećanje na 11. rujna! Prije dvadeset i pet godina, Amerika je doživjela jedno od najmračnijih jutara u svojoj povijesti. Avioni oteti od strane terorista udarili su u Svjetski trgovački centar u New Yorku i Pentagon u Virginiji, dok su hrabri putnici na četvrtom letu borili se za kontrolu iznad Pennsylvanije, žrtvujući svoje živote da bi spasili bezbroj drugih. Tog je dana izgubljeno 2.977 života, a nacija i dalje nosi teret te tuge, uz odavanje počasti otpornosti spasilaca i običnih građana koji su trčali prema opasnosti. Na ovoj važnoj godišnjici sjećanja, kongresnica Beth Van Duyne nas podsjeća da su Amerikanci svih pozadina stajali zajedno u jedinstvu, duh hrabrosti i nesebičnosti kojeg nikada nećemo zaboraviti.

Fokus na lokalne heroje, Texas-24 Junak iz rodnog kraja! U skladu s ovom godišnjicom, ovog tjedna Texas-24 Junak iz rodnog kraja je stanovnik Southlakea, Bill Johnson. Bivši detektiv NYPD-a i nesebični heroj, Bill je proveo tjedne pomažući na Ground Zerou u opasnim i iscrpljujućim posljedicama napada 11. rujna. Američka zajednica izražava najdublju zahvalnost Billu za njegovu nevjerojatnu hrabrost, žrtvu i doživotnu službu drugima.

Ulaganje u budućnost Sjevernog Teksasa! Kongresnica Van Duyne imala je zauzet raspored diljem okruga ovog tjedna, izravno se susrećući s organizacijama koje pomažu obiteljima, studentima i poduzetnicima. Beth Van Duyne je posjetila ForgeNow kako bi razgledala njihove laboratorije, provjerila učionice i iz prve ruke vidjela praktične tečajeve koji pomažu studentima da pronađu stabilne karijere. Naglasila je fantastične mogućnosti koje ForgeNow pruža veteranima u potrazi za sljedećom misijom, uključujući i njihovo sudjelovanje na nadolazećem Sajmu poslova za Sjeverni Teksas.

Tijekom posjeta Ascend Dallas, kongresnica je saznala o njihovom važnom radu u pomaganju ženama da izgrade sigurnu budućnost, susrela se s mladim majkama i njihovom djecom koja sudjeluju u programu Nurse Family Partnership.

Židovska obiteljska služba (JFS) Dallas! Beth Van Duyne je obišla nedavno otvorenu prehrambenu banku JFS Dallas. JFS pruža sveobuhvatnu podršku svim stanovnicima Sjevernog Teksasa, nudeći medicinsku skrb, savjetovanje za mentalno zdravlje te karijerno i financijsko savjetovanje.

Osim toga, rujan obilježava Mjesec prevencije samoubojstava, a utorak je proglašen Danom 988. Kongresnica Van Duyne podsjeća sve da, ako se vi ili netko koga poznajete muči, pomoć je dostupna 24/7. Inovacija, liderstvo i rast malog poduzetništva! Texas nastavlja predvoditi u tehnološkim i industrijskim inovacijama.

Rudnik budućnosti na SMU-u! Velike čestitke Kongresnice Beth idu Sveučilištu Southern Methodist (SMU) na odabiru za Inicijativu Ministarstva energetike ‘Rudnik budućnosti’. Preuređivanjem lokacije za bušenje u Texasu, ovaj projekt će stvoriti prvi sintetski rudnik na svijetu unutar naprednog postrojenja za testiranje bušenja i senzora, omogućujući sigurno i ponovljivo testiranje ključnih rudarskih alata.  Department of Energy’s Mine of the Future Initiative

Okrugli stol za mala poduzeća! U četvrtak su Beth Van Duyne, zajedno s SBA Administratoricom Kelly Loeffler i predsjednikom EXIM-a Jovanovićem, organizirali okrugli stol Small Business Roundtable za mala poduzeća. Iz prve ruke su čuli od kreatora radnih mjesta iz Sjevernog Teksasa o pristupu kapitalu, domaćoj proizvodnji i podršci izvozu. Republikanci u Zastupničkom domu i dalje surađuju s administracijom kako bi podržali rast malih poduzeća kroz porezne olakšice i deregulaciju.

Congresswoman Van Duyne’s Weekly Update Irving, Texas – Twenty-five years ago today, America experienced one of the darkest mornings in our history. Planes hijacked by Islamic terrorists struck the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Virginia. Over Pennsylvania, passengers on a fourth hijacked plane fought back, bringing it down in a field and saving countless other lives. 2,977 people never came home to their families that day. As a country, we still carry that grief. First responders ran into burning buildings. Strangers were helping strangers. Americans of every background stood together. On this 25th anniversary, we honor the lives lost, the first responders and heroes who reminded us of the very best of our great nation. We will never forget. I recently had a great visit to ForgeNow, learning more about the courses they offer and the hands-on training they provide to help their students land careers. I was able to pop into the classroom, take a tour of their lab, and meet some students doing their training. ForgeNow also offers great opportunities for veterans looking for their next opportunity and even participated in our 2026 North Texas Job Fair! I spent some time at Ascend Dallas learning about their work to help women build stronger futures for themselves and their families. While there, I met some of the first-time moms and their babies in Ascend’s Nurse Family Partnership program. While visiting the Jewish Family Service of Dallas, I had the opportunity to tour their recently opened food pantry. JFS Dallas serves all North Texans with a variety of services, including medical care, mental health counseling, and career and financial coaching. Tuesday was 988 Day, and September is Suicide Prevention Month. Congrats to SMU on being selected for the Department of Energy’s Mine of the Future Initiative! This project will create the world’s first synthetic mine within an advanced drilling and sensing test facility. By repurposing a Texas drilling site, they will enable safe, repeatable testing of mining tools. Thursday was the one year anniversary since our friend, Charlie Kirk, an inspiring young man who loved our nation, and a leader for so many other young Americans was stolen from us by pure evil that lives amongst us. I remember my son saving his allowance for months to be able to attend a Turning Point USA event in North Texas to hear from Charlie and the many conservative leaders he brought together to remind us we live in the most incredible nation on earth and we must defend her because America is the best hope for all of mankind. Charlie led with compassion, enthusiasm, knowledge, and an earnest dedication to help younger Americans become a generation of leaders who would work to preserve American traditions, values, and the God-given rights that empower us to be the leading nation among all others. We miss Charlie dearly and continue to pray for his family and Turning Point USA. On Thursday morning, Small Business Administration Administrator Loeffler, EXIM Chairman Jovanovic, and I heard from job creators in North Texas at our Small Business Roundtable. We talked about what it takes for Texas businesses to grow: access to capital, stronger domestic manufacturing, and support for exporters. House Republicans have been working with the Trump administration to back that growth, from the Working Families Tax Cuts to historic deregulation, allowing North Texas entrepreneurs to reinvest, expand, and compete with much bigger companies. Our discussion focused on boosting small businesses and creating well-paying jobs in our North Texas community. Our conversation also highlighted the booming aerospace and advanced manufacturing industries – many of which are also small businesses. Texas-24 Hometown Hero This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Southlake resident Bill Johnson, a former NYPD detective and selfless hero who spent weeks serving at Ground Zero in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks.
