A Patriotic Call to Truth and Safety! Evo razloga zašto je rad Ministarstva domovinske sigurnosti važan pod vodstvom američkog predsjednika Trumpa

Dragi prijatelji, pratitelji i čitatelji blog portala Totalno.HR. Pišem ovu objavu s srcem punim ponosa i osjećajem hitnosti.

Ostanite budni, budite domoljubni i čuvajte Ameriku sigurnom.

U nastavku pogledajte domoljuban rad Ministarstva domovinske sigurnosti u svrhu zaštite američkih građana.

CALIFORNIA CALAMITY: Governor Gavin Newsom Pardons Criminal Illegal Alien Convicted for Attempted Murder and Assault with a Firearm

Gavin Newsom’s pardon removed the attempted murderer’s qualifying convictions that made him removable from the U.S.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today released the following statement after Governor Gavin Newsom pardoned an illegal alien from Cambodia who was convicted for attempted murder and assault with a firearm, criminal convictions which made this illegal alien lose his green card and removable from the U.S.

CA1

Following the convictions, he was issued a final order of removal from an Immigration Judge in 2019. Thanks to Governor Newsom’s pardon, this alien may now re-open immigration proceedings rather than be removed from the U.S. and will be able to remain in California communities.

CA2

“Governor Newsom pardoning an illegal alien convicted of attempted murder, so he can remain in our country, is absolute INSANITY. These are the criminal illegal aliens he and his sanctuary politicians are protecting. He is putting the lives of all Americans at risk,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin“Somboon Phaymany lost his green card following his conviction for attempted murder and assault with a firearm. Following the conviction, he was placed in removal proceedings and issued a final order of removal by a judge. Gavin Newsom’s pardon took away this attempted murderer’s qualifying convictions that made him removable from the U.S.”

Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is fighting for the arrest and removal of aliens who commit crimes in American communities. As of February 6, 2026, ICE has 33,179 active detainers for criminal illegal aliens in California’s local, state, and federal prisons. Across the state of California, 4,561 criminal illegal aliens have had detainers not honored and have been RELEASED from jails into California communities since January 20, 2025.

The crimes of these aliens include 31 homicides, 661 assaults, 574 burglaries, 184 robberies, 1,489 dangerous drugs offenses, 379 weapons offenses, and 234 sexual predatory offenses.

Governor Newsom could end this madness and call on every jurisdiction to honor ICE detainers. Instead, he continues to prioritize criminal illegal aliens over the safety of Californians.

Some of the public safety threats released directly from California jails into American communities include:

CA3

Hector Grijalba-Sernas, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico arrested for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14-years-old. On September 24, 2024, ICE lodged an immigration detainer that was not honored and he was released. On May 8, 2025, ICE arrested Grijalba and referred him for prosecution. He is currently in the custody of a federal partner with an active immigration detainer lodged against him.

CA4

Xujin An, a criminal illegal alien from China arrested for sexual penetration with force and sexual battery in Westminster, CA. On November 9, 2024, ICE lodged an immigration detainer that was not honored and he was released. On April 15, 2025, ICE arrested An and he remains in custody pending judicial proceedings.

CA5

Angel Navarro Camarillo, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico and a member of the notorious La Familia street gang, arrested for a sex offender violation. On November 29, 2024, Navarro Camarillo was arrested by the Fullerton Police Department. An immigration detainer was lodged, and the detainer was not honored and he was released. On July 14, 2025, ICE arrested Navarro Camarillo and removed him from the United States.

CA6

Vicente Centeno-Lugo, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, has a history of criminal convictions spanning the past 28 years, including hit-and-run property damage, willful cruelty to a child, possession of controlled substance, evasion of peace officer, obstruction of public officer, taking vehicle without consent, and owning prohibited ammunition. Santa Clara County Jail refused to recognize multiple ICE immigration detainers in recent years and released Centeno back into the same communities he was terrorizing.

CA7

Carmelo Corado Hurtado, a criminal illegal alien from Guatemala, was convicted of first-degree murder, driving under the influence, and second-degree robbery. ICE lodged an immigration detainer that was not honored and he was released. On February 26, 2025, ICE arrested Corado Hurtado and removed him from the United States.

CA8

Raphael Arturovich Gevorgyan, a criminal illegal alien from Armenia and member of the notorious Armenian Power gang, convicted of voluntary manslaughter, assault with deadly weapon, tampering with vehicle, receiving stolen property, and grand theft. On November 11, 2025, Gevorgyan was arrested by the Burbank Police Department for obstructing police. ICE lodged an immigration detainer that was not honored and he was released. On November 12, 2025, ICE arrested Gevorgyan where he remains in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

CA9

Victor Hernandez-Jiron, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador, arrested for attempted murder, inflicting corporal injury on spouse, assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonment, and threats to commit a crime resulting in death or great bodily injury. ICE issued an immigration detainer that was not honored and he was released. On November 17, 2025, ICE officers apprehended Hernandez-Jiron where he remains in ICE custody pending judicial proceedings.

CA10

Monica Gonzalez-Riedel, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, arrested for willful cruelty to child and assault with deadly weapon using force causing possible great bodily injury. On March 1, 2025, ICE encountered Gonzalez after she was booked into the San Diego Sheriff’s Office. ICE lodged an immigration detainer, which was rejected by local police, who then released Gonzalez back into the community.

CA11

Sara Hassanzadeh, a criminal illegal alien from Iran, arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery on an ex-spouse. On September 8, 2025, Hassanzadeh was booked into the San Diego Sheriff’s Office. ICE lodged an immigration detainer, which local authorities rejected and released Hassanzadeh back into the community.

CA12

Elvin Joel Centeno Verde, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras convicted of obstruction of police and arrested multiple times within the past five years for drug trafficking and drug sales. ICE lodged an immigration detainer that was not honored and he was released. On October 27, 2025, ICE apprehended Centeno and removed him from the United States.

1 Week into Democrats’ Shutdown, DHS Implements Emergency Measures to Conserve Resources and Manpower Impacting Travelers and FEMA Responses to Non-Disaster Areas

Among other measures effective February 22, TSA will suspend all courtesy, special privilege escorts at airports to preserve resources to keep the American public safe

WASHINGTON – After a week of being shutdown by Congressional Democrats, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced it must take emergency measures to preserve limited funds and personnel to mitigate the national security and public safety damage at the hands of Congressional Democrats.

The Democrats’ decision to put politics over public safety, for a third time this Congress, has forced the Department to direct its components to take the following measures effective at 6 AM ET, February 22, 2026:

  1. Halting all non-disaster-related Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) response efforts to prioritize disaster response;
  2. Ending Transportation Security Administration (TSA) PreCheck® lanes and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Global Entry service, to refocus Department personnel on the majority of travelers; and
  3. Suspending all courtesy and family police escorts at airports for Members of Congress, which is drawing staff away from the critical mission of getting passengers screened.

“This is the third time that Democrat politicians have shut down this department during the 119th Congress,” said Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem“Shutdowns have real world consequences, not just for the men and women of DHS and their families who go without a paycheck, but it endangers our national security. The American people depend on this department every day, and we are making tough but necessary workforce and resource decisions to mitigate the damage inflicted by these politicians. TSA and CBP are prioritizing the general traveling population at our airports and ports of entry and suspending courtesy and special privilege escorts. FEMA will halt all non-disaster related response to prioritize disasters. This is particularly important given this weekend another significant winter storm is forecast to impact the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast United States.”

A full list of measures being taken are below:

FEMA

FEMA has entered emergency operating status, and is scaling back to bare-minimum, life-saving operations only.  Effective 6:00 a.m. on February 22, FEMA will cease all non-essential activities and focus exclusively on immediate disaster response where there is an active threat to life, public health, or safety. As a result:

  • Public Assistance will not move forward for ongoing or legacy disasters. FEMA will only carry out Public Assistance activities for new or recent disasters requiring immediate emergency action to protect lives or prevent catastrophic damage.
  • All non-emergency recovery work is paused, including project formulation, long-term recovery efforts, planning, and administrative processing that does not address an imminent threat.
  • Non-disaster-related activities are halted so limited personnel and resources can be redirected to urgent response operations.
  • New initiatives, discretionary programs, pilot efforts, and policy development are suspended until funding is restored.
  • Travel, deployments, and operational support are restricted to those strictly necessary to respond to active disasters and life-safety emergencies.

These actions reflect the reality of operating without appropriations. FEMA cannot continue normal recovery operations under these conditions and must prioritize only its most critical, life-saving responsibilities. Full recovery and assistance operations will resume once funding is restored.

TSA

As the Transportation Security Administration enters emergency operating status, resources are being consolidated to prioritize essential security operations and focus personnel on detecting and countering threats. Effective at 6:00 a.m. on February 22, nonessential privileges and courtesies provided by TSA will cease.

As a result:

  • TSA PreCheck® lanes will be closed. All TSA PreCheck® members will be directed to general screening lanes to maintain our security standards and consolidate TSA’s limited personnel and resources.
  • All courtesy escorts, including for members of Congress, will cease. These escorts put increased strain on our officers, who must be allowed to prioritize their critical work of screening passengers.

Operations at all airports will prioritize screening of the general traveling population. Without appropriations, TSA simply cannot afford to risk overstretching our staff and weakening our security posture. Until funding is restored, all travelers should expect a process that does not sacrifice security, but refocuses TSA officers to standard screening procedures. TSA PreCheck® and other services will resume upon Department of Homeland Security funding being signed into law.

CBP

As of 6:00 am on February 22, 2026 U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations will halt all Global Entry arrival processing at participating airports.

  • Officers assigned to process Global Entry travelers will be re-assigned to process all other arriving travelers.
  • U.S. citizens and lawful permanent resident Global Entry Members can proceed to the properly marked primary processing lanes for arriving U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents. All other Global Entry members can proceed to the properly marked visitor lanes.
  • CBP will also be suspending requests for port courtesies for members of Congress at all ports of entry to include escorts and tours in order for personnel to be reassigned to essential border security operations.

DHS Proposes Rule to Prioritize Americans’ Safety by Strengthening Screening of Asylum Seekers

Changes to work permits would reduce meritless applications, processing times, and backlog

WASHINGTON – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is proposing a rule to reduce the incentive for aliens to file fraudulent asylum claims so they can obtain work authorizations.

“For too long, a fraudulent asylum claim has been an easy path to working in the United States, overwhelming our immigration system with meritless applications,” said a DHS Spokesperson. “We are proposing an overhaul of the asylum system to enforce the rules and reduce the backlog we inherited from the prior administration. Aliens are not entitled to work while we process their asylum applications. The Trump administration is strengthening the vetting of asylum applicants and restoring integrity to the asylum and work authorization processes.”

Applications for employment authorization based on a pending asylum application have reached a historic high, straining U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ (USCIS) resources. Nearly every illegal alien attempts to exploit the system by applying for asylum. USCIS currently has more than 1.4 million pending affirmative asylum claims, which is equal to the entire population of the state of New Hampshire.

This rule, if finalized, would reduce the incentive to file frivolous, fraudulent, or otherwise meritless asylum claims by changing filing and eligibility requirements for aliens requesting employment authorization based on a pending asylum application. The agency would focus more of its finite resources on reviewing pending asylum applications, including backlog cases and other pending applications and petitions, and allow our asylum system to prioritize those actually seeking refuge from danger.

The proposed rule supports President Trump’s Executive Order 14159Protecting the American People Against Invasion.

For more information, please see the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the Federal Register. The 60-day public comment period starts following publication of the Notice.

NORTH CAROLINA NIGHTMARE: ICE Lodges Arrest Detainer Against Criminal Illegal Aliens Charged in Beating, Sodomizing, and Ripping Fingernails off of a Victim in Brutal Home Invasion in Sanctuary North Carolina

These two sexual perverts and violent thugs had no prior criminal history in U.S.

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged an arrest detainer for Zaid Mayen-Esteban and Jonathan David Garcia-Larios, two criminal illegal aliens from Mexico, charged for assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, burglary, kidnapping, and sodomy in Pitt County, North Carolina, on February 11.

According to local reporting, these two heinous criminals broke into the victim’s home and used a sharp, edged weapon and restrained him against his will. They sodomized the victim and removed his fingernails. He was later transported to Eastern Carolina University Medical Center with injuries and thankfully survived. On February 13, U.S. Marshals along with local law enforcement arrested Mayen and Garcia.

Both of these monsters entered the country illegally at an unknown date and time. Garcia-Larios, however, was previously removed in 2024 and chose to commit a felony and illegally re-enter the country.

NC1

Zaid Mayen-Esteban

NC2

Jonathan David Garcia-Larios

“This is a real-life nightmare. Burglarizing, kidnapping, assaulting, sodomizing, and ripping off the fingernails of an innocent victim are extremely wicked and heinous,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Zaid Mayen-Esteban and Jonathan David Garcia-Larios should have never been in this country. Prior to this heinous act, these illegal aliens had no criminal record in the U.S. Under Secretary Noem’s leadership we are not waiting for illegal aliens to commit crimes before we target them for arrest and removal. We pray for the continued recovery of this innocent victim.”

BEACH BRUTALITY: ICE Asks Florida Authorities to Not Release a Criminal Illegal Alien Who Attempted to Drown and Kill a Woman

This illegal alien was paroled into the U.S. and given Temporary Protected Status by the Biden administration

WASHINGTON – Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged an arrest detainer against Said Alexander Hernandez Gonzalez, a criminal illegal alien from Venezuela, who is charged with first degree murder for attempting to kill a woman by drowning her on the beach in Martin County, Florida. Thankfully, because of Florida’s cooperation with ICE, this criminal will never walk free again on American soil, and he will be safely transferred into immigration proceedings.

According to local reports, the victim was walking along Tiger Shores Beach and talking on the phone around 11pm the night of February 12, when Hernandez Gonzalez came up from behind, struck her, and attempted to drown her in the ocean. The struggle—in which she heroically fought back—lasted roughly 3-5 minutes before she ultimately lost consciousness. The monster, believing she was dead, left her behind and threw her phone into the water.

She survived the attack and alerted local authorities, who ultimately arrested the illegal alien on February 15.

Hernandez Gonzalez illegally entered in 2023 and was PAROLED into the country and granted Temporary Protected Status by the Biden administration.

Florida1

Said Alexander Hernandez Gonzalez

“Said Alexander Hernandez Gonzalez—a product of the Biden administration’s open-border policies—brutally attacked a woman on the beach and attempted to drown and kill her,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “She bravely fought back and survived this wicked attack. ICE has lodged an immigration detainer with the Martin County Sheriff’s office, and because of Florida’s cooperation with ICE, this sicko will never walk American streets again. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S.”

WASHINGTON –– The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released new information on Floriberto Perez-Nieto, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico responsible for shooting a police officer in Charleston County, South Carolina on February 11. He was previously convicted of illegal reentry.

According to local authorities, Sheriff deputies initially responded to the scene shortly after 9 p.m. on February 10 after receiving reports of shots fired on Johns Island, South Carolina. They were unable to locate the suspect, later identified as Floriberto Perez-Nieto.

Around 3 a.m. on February 11, deputies received another call from the same individual, who reported that the suspect had returned to the area.

Officers spotted the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to pull Floriberto Perez-Nieto over. He tried to evade arrest and shot one of the officers in the chest. Deputies returned fire and Perez-Nieto was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Fortunately, the officer who was shot in the chest was wearing body armor and was unharmed.

“This criminal illegal alien illegally obtained a firearm and nearly killed a law enforcement officer,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia Mclaughlin. “Thankfully, the officer’s body armor saved his life. There could have been quite a different tragic outcome for this officer and his family.”

Perez-Nieto was previously arrested after he illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico, at an unknown date and location, and without inspection by an immigration official. He was subsequently removed from the United States on February 20, 2019. He chose to commit a felony and illegally re-entered the country at an unknown date and time.

Serial Immigration Fraudster Working as a Minnesota Corrections Officer Arrested

MINNEAPOLIS — U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ (USCIS) Operation Twin Shield is yielding yet more results with the arrest of a Minnesota correctional officer and AWOL National Guard member masquerading as a U.S. citizen despite having no legal status in the United States. The serial fraudster was identified as part of the major enforcement operation that targeted suspected immigration fraud in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area last fall.

Through the joint efforts of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agencies USCIS and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Morris Brown, a 45-year-old illegal alien from Liberia, was arrested on January 15 in Minneapolis by ICE for multiple violations of U.S. immigration law, including overstaying his student visa and making false claims to U.S. citizenship.

“Operation Twin Shield continues to deliver results as the Department of Homeland Security relentlessly pursues those who seek to cheat our immigration system,” said USCIS Director Joseph Edlow. “This alien tried every trick in the book to remain in the United States after losing legal status. We will use every tool at our disposal to ensure he faces justice for his many violations of the law.”

Brown last entered the U.S. in 2014 on a non-immigrant student visa that was terminated in 2015 because he failed to enroll in a full course of study. Despite not having legal status, he joined the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in 2014 but went AWOL the next year. He was ultimately apprehended and discharged from the military under other than honorable conditions in 2022.

Brown applied for a Green Card in 2020 under the Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness program. USCIS denied his application due to misrepresentations, including his failure to disclose prior military service and his false claim to U.S. citizenship. In 2024, in another commission of fraud, he applied to naturalize as a U.S. citizen based on prior military service.

During Operation Twin Shield, USCIS investigators looking into Brown’s application for citizenship found evidence of marriage fraud and prior instances where he falsely claimed to be a U.S. citizen in official documents. They also learned he was working as a corrections officer for the state of Minnesota—despite having no legal immigration status—by claiming to be a U.S. citizen. USCIS referred his case to ICE, and Brown now faces removal proceedings and potential criminal prosecution for immigration fraud, false claims to U.S. citizenship, and related offenses.

Protecting American communities is a priority for USCIS. To report suspected immigration benefit fraud or abuse to USCIS, please use the USCIS Tip Form. Americans can see more public safety threats arrested in their communities at wow.dhs.gov.

ICE Asks Charlotte Sanctuary Politicians to Not Release Child Rapist and Kidnapper

Sanctuary politicians previously RELEASED this pedophile from their jail into North Carolina communities

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged an arrest detainer asking local law enforcement to not release Arnol De Jesus Guevara-Lopez, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras accused of a laundry list of heinous crimes including statutory rape of a child under 15 years old, kidnapping, and indecent liberties with a child in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

In February 2025, ICE lodged a detainer with local authorities. Sanctuary politicians REFUSED to honor it and released the child predator back into North Carolina communities.

This pedophile was re-arrested on February 10, 2026, after he failed to meet conditions of bond, and ICE has lodged another detainer.

Charlotte1

These are the types of monsters North Carolina sanctuary politicians are protecting from immigration enforcement and RELEASING from their jails into our neighborhoods to prey on American children,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “This is a perfect example of why sanctuary policies make Americans less safe. We are calling on Charlotte sanctuary politicians to commit to turning this child rapist over to ICE, so he can never walk American streets again. Sanctuary politicians must stop releasing pedophiles and rapists into our neighborhoods.”

Sanctuary policies resulted in the release of 1,400 criminal illegal aliens from jail directly back onto North Carolina streets.

DHS law enforcement is protecting American communities every day from another senseless tragedy like this taking place in another town, to another family. Victims of illegal alien crime may receive support from the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office by contacting 1-855-488-6423.

Behind the Crowd at Sporting Events

Thousands of people gather for big events like the Super Bowl and World Cup. That means more eyes watching—and more chances to spot the signs of trafficking.

Human trafficking doesn’t always look like what you’ve seen in movies. It happens in unexpected places, including during major events —in the hotel down the street, the stadiums you watch games in, and the restaurants you celebrate at afterwards. It may even happen within families.

The Blue Campaign is here to help you sort out fact from fiction, learn how to recognize the signs of human trafficking and what to do about it, and explore a variety of resources that you can use to help spread awareness in your community. Learn how to recognize human trafficking and report it.

Together, we can help protect vulnerable people who desperately need it, just by reporting what we see. Join the fight to end human trafficking today.

Couples in a healthy relationship versus an unhealthy one

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month – Make Sure You Can Spot the Red Flags

Relationships should be safe and healthy.

Romance is in the air this month…but the Valentine’s Day season can also be particularly challenging for people who are extra vulnerable due to their background, family situation, or living conditions.

That’s why we recognize February as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month—a time to make sure that young people are aware of the potential dangers of dating apps, unhealthy relationships, teen dating violence, and self-destructive behaviors.

It’s important to remember that for teens under 18, sex trafficking does not require force, fraud or coercion under the law like it would for adults. Sometimes, trafficking happens through an abusive dating relationship – when a partner uses emotional pressure, manipulation, or control to exploit a young person.

It’s a red flag if your partner:

  • Demands that you tell them where you are at all times.
  • Makes you ask for permission to leave the home or to socialize with others.
  • Limits your communication with friends, family, and loved ones.
  • Threatens to hurt you or your loved ones if youdon’t do what they say.
  • Holds on to your identification cards, other personal documents, or money.
  • Makes you work at a job where you do not receive your own paycheck.
  • Forces you to perform sex acts for them or others for money, items of value, or drugs.

Learn more about how you can spot the signs.

Blue Campaign Webinar Prepares Transportation Professionals in the Run-up to the FIFA World Cup

As global travel accelerates ahead of major international sporting events, transportation professionals are more important than ever in the fight against human trafficking. To support this critical role, the Blue Campaign recently hosted a webinar for transportation industry stakeholders focused on recognizing and responding to human trafficking indicators across travel settings.

Large-scale events such as FIFA tournaments draw millions of travelers, create complex transportation networks, and generate temporary surges in demand for lodging, rides, logistics, and services. While these events celebrate international connection, they can also be exploited by traffickers who rely on anonymity, mobility, and crowded travel areas to move and control victims.

The webinar brought together professionals from aviation, maritime, rail, ground transportation, and logistics sectors to highlight how trafficking can intersect with everyday travel operations, often in subtle ways. Participants learned how traffickers may use airports, buses, trains, ports, and rideshare services to transport victims across cities, borders, and countries, particularly during high-traffic periods associated with global events like FIFA.

The Blue Campaign team discussed key topics, including behavioral and situational indicators of human trafficking that may appear during check-in, boarding, transit, or border crossings; red flags specific to large-scale events, such as unusual travel arrangements, lack of control over personal identification, scripted responses, or visible fear and confusion; and the importance of trauma-informed awareness — observing without confronting and knowing when and how to report concerns safely.

The team emphasized that transportation employees are not expected to investigate or intervene. Instead, their role is to notice, document, and report suspicious situations using established protocols. Even a single observation can help initiate a response that protects a victim from further harm.

By strengthening awareness across the transportation sector, the Blue Campaign reinforces a powerful message: human trafficking can happen anywhere, and everyone has a role in helping stop it.

Former New Orleans School Teacher Faces Possible Life Sentence for Juvenile Sex Trafficking

Aaron Terod Johnson, 37, faces 10 years to life in federal prison when he is sentenced on March 18, 2026.

After a three-day trial in the New Orleans’ federal courthouse, Johnson was found guilty on Dec. 10, 2025, of sex trafficking of a minor and coercion of a minor to engage in prostitution, after taking advantage of a 16-year-old runaway and trying to pay a different 15-year-old girl for sex in early 2024.

Johnson was arrested in August 2024 by HSI special agents and U.S. Marshals, after an investigation found evidence, he had coerced the first juvenile girl to travel from Mississippi to Louisiana “for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex,” HSI said in a statement.

The agency said Johnson was employed at the time as a schoolteacher in New Orleans but did not disclose the school where he worked.

According to evidence presented at trial, Johnson brought the 16-year-old runaway from Vicksburg, Mississippi, to New Orleans and paid her at least twice to engage in sex. He later offered another minor female money for sex, even after she texted him that she was a minor.

“The exploitation of at-risk youth is a very real, clear and present danger,” acting U.S. Attorney Michael Simpson said in a statement after the guilty verdict. “We must, and will, remain vigilant in identifying and relentlessly pursuing those who commoditize our children.”

ICE Arrests Criminal Illegal Alien and Pedophile Released from Connecticut Jail by Sanctuary Policies

Connecticut’s Trust Act limits local law enforcement from cooperating with ICE, allowing criminals—including child predators—to be released from jails back into American neighborhoods

WASHINGTON – On February 13, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers arrested Christian Espinosa-Sarango, a pedophile and criminal illegal alien from Ecuador who was previously RELEASED from a jail back into Connecticut communities by sanctuary policies. This pedophile was charged for sexual assault, illegal sexual contact with a child, and enticing minors with a computer in North Haven, Connecticut, on December 19, 2025.

According to local reports, Espinosa-Sarango made contact with an undercover law enforcement officer who was posing as the aunt of a 13-year-old through an online chat. He allegedly asked for photographs of the young girl and sex. Espinosa-Sarango also made plans to meet with the child at a hotel room, where he was arrested.

Connecticut1

Christian Espinosa-Sarango

On December 23, ICE lodged an arrest detainer asking local law enforcement to not release this pedophile without notifying ICE. Because of the state’s sanctuary policies, the detainer was not honored, and he was RELEASED from jail onto Connecticut’s streets.

On February 13, ICE officers arrested this public safety threat at large instead of safely transferring him into ICE custody.

During the arrest, Espinosa-Sarango refused to comply with lawful orders, first attempting to flee in his vehicle, and then refusing to roll his window down, requiring our officers to break his window in order to successfully apprehend this criminal.

These are the types of monsters Connecticut sanctuary politicians are releasing from their jails and onto the streets to perpetuate more crimes against children,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “We need local law enforcement to cooperate with us to get these heinous criminals out of our neighborhoods. 7 of the 10 safest cities in the United States cooperate with ICE. This is a perfect example of why sanctuary policies make Americans less safe. Thankfully, because of our brave ICE agents, Christian Espinosa-Sarango, a pedophile, will never walk American streets again. Sanctuary politicians must stop releasing pedophiles, murderers, rapists, and kidnappers into our neighborhoods.”

Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the United States.

“While Americans celebrated Presidents’ Day, the heroic men and women of ICE law enforcement arrested more convicted criminals from our communities,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Yesterday’s arrests included gang members, rapists, and violent offenders. We won’t let anything slow us down from arresting and removing criminals from American neighborhoods—not even a federal holiday. Nearly 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S.”

Yesterday’s arrests include:

WOW1

DHS, with Maryland’s Cooperation, Arrests Criminal Illegal Alien Charged with Attempted Murder as Governor Bans Cooperation with ICE

By outlawing cooperation with ICE, Maryland’s sanctuary policies are siding with heinous criminal illegal aliens over public safety

WASHINGTON – On February 5, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Filberto Gonzalez Gutierrez, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, who was charged with attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment in Anne Arundale County, Maryland.

According to local reporting, Gutierrez sliced his wife’s neck open with a box cutter and accused her of cheating on him. ICE lodged a detainer with the Anne Arundale County Detention Center, which was honored, allowing a safe and controlled transfer of custody. This monster remains in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

Maryland1

However, safe arrests like these are now outlawed because Governor Wes Moore signed a law banning cooperation with ICE. This would force law enforcement to RELEASE criminals from their jails back into Maryland’s neighborhoods.

We need state and local cooperation to stop criminals from being RELEASED from jails into our neighborhoods. Together, we can make America safe again. 7 of the 10 safest cities work with ICE.

Maryland is unfortunately following a dangerous path—already started by Governor Hochul in New York and Governor Spanberger in Virginia—of putting criminal illegal aliens over American citizens,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Filberto Gonzalez Gutierrez, a monster who sliced his wife’s neck open with a box cutter, will never walk American streets again because Anne Arundale County worked with ICE to keep this criminal off our streets. Now, Maryland sanctuary politicians are playing Russian roulette with American lives by outlawing cooperation with ICE and forcing law enforcement to RELEASE criminals from their jails into our communities and perpetrate more crimes and create more victims. Unfortunately, the only consequence will be the continued murder, rape, assault, robbery, and carnage of American lives.”

Below are just a few of the public safety threats arrested by ICE in Maryland that sanctuary politicians are choosing to protect:

Maryland2

Vladimir Herrera-Garcia, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador, convicted of homicide and larceny.

Maryland3

Manuel Portillo Cardoza, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador, convicted of assault and lewd or lascivious acts with minor.

Maryland4

Jose Rivera Medrano, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador, convicted of incest with minor, sex offense against child-fondling, and another sex offense.

Maryland5

Nilo Herrera Sanchez, a criminal illegal alien from Peru, convicted of strongarm rape, sex assault, sex offense, and rape with weapon.

Maryland6

Jeffry Alfaro Lemus, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador, and member of MS-13, convicted of possession of weapon.
