Irving, TX – I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Independence Day celebrating America’s 250th. I was able to celebrate with my kids watching the largest fireworks show ever!
Ahead of the 250th, I shared a message for everyone about what this moment means for our nation. It also marked the one-year anniversary of the Working Families Tax Cuts which saved Americans from the largest tax hike in our nation’s history. You can view my message here.

I visited Wells Fargo’s campus in Irving, where I talked with North Texas employees about the incredible growth happening across the region. We discussed the economic boost from the World Cup and “Y’all Street,” plus how the Working Families Tax Cuts are delivering for North Texans one year later.
I’ve met with small businesses across North Texas who were crippled by burdensome Biden-era regulations. Now, thanks to permanent, expanded tax relief, they’re able to reinvest in growth instead of just staying afloat.
This administration is taking H-1B visa fraud seriously. This week, the U.S. Department of Labor announced investigations into abuse that’s hurting American workers.
In May, I led a request to cabinet officials in the Administration to conduct an interagency investigation into the fraudulent activity we’ve seen in the H-1B visa program across North Texas. I am encouraged to see them taking action.
Texas-24 Work of the Week
Texas deployed state resources to strengthen border security, support law enforcement, combat human trafficking, and help stop deadly fentanyl from reaching our communities. Since its launch, Operation Lone Star has helped apprehend more than 535,000 illegal immigrants and seize hundreds of millions of lethal doses of fentanyl.
This week, I joined my Texas House and Senate Republican colleagues in urging the Department of Homeland Security to prioritize Texas’ application for reimbursement through the State Border Security Reimbursement Fund.

This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Dr. Neal Odle!
Dr. Odle was honored with Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District’s Walk of Honor, recognizing individuals whose lasting contributions have shaped the community. Dr. Odle has over five decades of education, leadership, and service in our North Texas community.
He began his career as a fifth-grade teacher before opening O.C. Taylor Elementary School and helping lead GCISD to its first National Blue Ribbon School designation. Even in retirement, he continues to give back through volunteer work and community service.
