Odavanje počasti palom heroju. Usred užurbanog zakonodavnog rasporeda, tjedan je donio i tužne vijesti za Sjeverni Teksas. Zajednica je izgubila jednu od svojih najsvjetlijih mladih duša: vojnikinju Isabellu Gonzales, 19-godišnju djevojku iz Carrolltona, koja je tragično izgubila život dok je služila zemlji u Jordanu. Kongresnica Van Duyne izrazila je najdublje sućuti, podsjećajući sve da misle na obitelj, prijatelje i kolege službenike Isabelle u svojim stalnim mislima i molitvama.

Mentorstvo sljedeće generacije i angažman u D.C.-u. Obrazovanje i mentorstvo i dalje su u središtu misije Kongresnice. Podrška proizvodnji: Sastala se s proizvođačem iz Fort Wortha, WilliamsRDM, zajedno s Nacionalnom udrugom proizvođača kako bi razgovarali o tome kako poslovno prijateljski porezni poticaji—poput poticaja za istraživanje i razvoj u Poreznim olakšicama za radne obitelji—pomažu udvostručiti njihove operacije.

Načini i sredstva i pristupačnost zdravstvene zaštite. Tijekom punog sastanka odbora, Van Duyne i njezini kolege iz Odbora za načine i sredstva napredovali su s ključnim zakonima, uključujući mjere koje se bave utjecajem stranaca na izbore. Također se sastala s vodstvom HealthEquityja kako bi razgovarala o proširenju dostupnosti zdravstvenih štednih računa (HSA) za više Amerikanaca.

Pogled prema 2027.! Susrela se s Terryjem Clarkom, izvršnim direktorom PGA Amerike, kako bi proslavili nadolazeće PGA prvenstvo koje dolazi u Sjeverni Teksas 2027.!

Završavajući tjedan prije radnog razdoblja u distriktu, suvodila je podcast „Right to the Point” Republikanskog studijskog odbora zajedno s predstavnikom Haridopolosom.

Texas-24 Rad tjedna! Ovaj tjedan, Zastupnički dom je službeno usvojio Nacionalni zakon o obrani za fiskalnu godinu 27 (NDAA). Ovaj važan zakon jača nacionalnu obranu uz prioritetno zbrinjavanje vojnika, vojnih obitelji, starijih osoba i životno važnog medicinskog istraživanja. Značajno je da je NDAA uspješno uključio dijelove zakona koje je predložila sama kongresnica Van Duyne. Zakon o očuvanju pristupa pacijenata ljekarnama dugotrajne skrbi i Zakon o obnavljanju markice za istraživanje raka dojke.

Texas-24 Lokalni Junak. Ovog tjedna čast ide Korpulantu Joshua Swisheru iz Policijske uprave Southlake, dobitniku Nagrade za zasluženo ponašanje! Korpulant Swisher dobio je drugu najveću pohvalu odjela za svoju ogromnu hrabrost tijekom spašavanja iz požara vozila na državnoj cesti 114, gdje je uspješno spasio vozača zarobljenog u gorućem vozilu. Hvala ti na hrabrosti, Korpulante Swisher!

Ponekad je teško pronaći političare koji su iskreni, od srca, domoljubni i društveno osviješteni. Isabella Gonzales, a 19-year-old Carrollton native, was killed serving our country in Jordan. We hold her family, her friends, and everyone who served alongside her in our prayers. It was great to join Capitol Counsel on Monday. A highlight of our conversation was when I was able to talk about our upcoming North Texas Job Fair and meet their summer interns, including Thomas, a current UT Dallas student!   Huge thank you to our D.C. summer interns, Gavin, Ariana, Lilly, Caroline, Grace, and Emma! Gavin is a Texas-24 constituent from Addison who currently attends SMU. Ariana is also a constituent, from Preston Hollow, and recently graduated from SMU. Caroline, too, is a constituent from Preston Hollow and is currently a student at the University of Alabama. Lilly is from Tomball, Texas, and attends the University of Texas at Austin, Grace is a Virginia native and current SMU student, and Emma is also a Virginia native, currently at Cornell. From giving Capitol tours to Texas-24 visitors, to answering phones, to assisting our legislative and communications teams, these six got a front-row seat on how Congress actually works! Wishing each of them the best as they head into their next chapter. On Tuesday, I joined my fellow Texans in the House to take our photo for the America 250 time capsule! I am honored to serve as your Representative in Congress, fighting for our shared values each and every day.   That afternoon, I had a wonderful conversation with WilliamsRDM, a Fort Worth manufacturer, while they were in D.C. with the National Association of Manufacturers. We discussed how business-friendly tax provisions, like the Research & Development incentive in the Working Families Tax Cuts, helped the company expand operations and double their manufacturing operations. The American Franchise Act passed out of the Education and Workforce Committee! As Co-Chair of the Congressional Franchise Caucus, earlier this year, I was glad to join my friend Representative Kevin Hern in introducing the American Franchise Act to ensure that the franchise model remains strong and protects opportunities for entrepreneurs to start, operate, and grow their businesses. I am encouraged to see it now head to the House floor. Later that day, I met with Ambassador Seed, New Zealand’s Ambassador to the U.S., we discussed how we can continue to foster the great relationship between our two countries. Also, a very special shoutout to him and his team for welcoming North Texas families earlier this year for our annual Family Fly-in! Ambassador Seed went above and beyond to make it a very memorable experience for all of the families who were able to visit the New Zealand Embassy. On Wednesday, my Ways and Means colleagues and I met for a full committee markup. We advanced bills out of committee that addressed a variety of concerns, including foreign influence on elections. Afterwards, I met with HealthEquity, Founder Dr. Neeleman, and CEO Scott Cutler. We discussed healthcare affordability in America and how HSAs are helping millions of people plan ahead and save for the future. Through the Working Families Tax Cuts, access to HSAs was opened for millions of newly eligible people, but there is still work to be done as we look to expand eligibility for even more people. Had a great conversation with Terry Clark, Chief Executive Officer of the PGA of America, headquartered in Frisco. We are excited to have the PGA Championship come to North Texas in 2027! That evening, I joined Teresa Woodard on WFAA to discuss my upcoming North Texas Job Fair. I was excited to announce that the job openings have doubled since this time last year! Texas-24 Work of the Week This week, the House passed the FY27 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which strengthens our national defense while advancing important priorities for service members, military families, seniors, and lifesaving medical research. I am encouraged to see parts of my bills, the Preserving Patient Access to Long-Term Care Pharmacies Act and the Breast Cancer Research Stamp Reauthorization Act, included in the NDAA, and I appreciate the collaboration that helped move these priorities forward. Texas-24 Hometown Hero This week’s Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Southlake Police Department Corporal Joshua Swisher, recipient of the Meritorious Conduct Award! Corporal Swisher was honored with the department’s second-highest award for his courageous actions during a vehicle fire rescue on State Highway 114, where he helped save a driver trapped inside a burning vehicle.
